About Eugene’s Table
Flavor, Community, and Opportunity in the South Willamette Valley
As of 2021, Lane County, or the Greater Eugene area, is home to 163 food and beverage manufacturing companies, which employ 4027 people, bringing over $211 million dollars in wages to the region.
Historically, Lane County and its municipalities have made the food and beverage sector an economic development priority and they continue to do so today. In 2012, the City of Eugene and Lane Workforce Partnership used funds awarded by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development to prepare an analysis of the economic cluster. The analysis found that there is extensive activity in the industry that positively impacts the local and regional economies.
Since the 2012 study, there has been continued regional support for the food and beverage industry. Particularly important, is a recent initiative that came out of the Lane County Sector Strategies Team (LCSST), a partnership between regional workforce development, economic development, and city and business leaders focused on economic and workforce development for Lane County, Oregon.
In 2017, The Sector Strategies Team began to focus on the food and beverage manufacturing industry. Season to Taste, Inc. was contracted to lead Food and Beverage Sector Strategies. The firm worked directly with leaders from food and beverage companies to begin building programming that moved the needle on the most important issues faced by local industry.
The work was so successful that industry members stepped up to support by funding a new expanded body of work culminating in the launch of Eugene’s Table in 2019. Eugene’s Table unites the food and beverage manufacturing community in the greater Eugene area to solidify our region as a hub for world-class companies. It leads collaborative development projects, promotes our products and values, and create opportunities to share knowledge and resources.
Eugene’s Table is a program of Season to Taste, Inc., a food and beverage management consulting firm based in Eugene, OR .
