Food Safety and Traceability Workshop

  • The Food Innovation Center 1207 Northwest Naito Parkway, #154 Portland, OR, 97209 United States (map)

Are you a small food producer feeling overwhelmed or confused by the regulations and mandates of the Food Safety Modernization Act?

Food Safety is an important part of food production. This workshop provides valuable information to food producers about FSMA, traceability and recall processes.

Accurate record keeping is a vital aspect of FSMA with the requirement of being able to retrieve and provide the records to the FDA within 24 hours. During this workshop you can also learn about an opportunity to participate in a pilot project for a Food Safety Record Readiness (FSRR) Mobile Solution Application (App) being developed through OSU.

This mobile app solution is being designed to facilitate efficient record keeping, improved traceability plus prompt, accurate document retrieval for small specialty crop food processors in the PNW. Accurate records are vital for mock recall practice or even real-time recalls that might occur.
