On June 9th, 2020, in response to the murder of George Floyd and in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, the Lane County Board of County Commissioners unanimously adopted a resolution drafted by the Equity and Access Advisory Board that acknowledges the work Lane County must do in order to achieve true racial equity.

As part of this work, the County is hosting public listening sessions. Community members are invited to these virtual listening sessions to voice thoughts, feelings, and concerns about racial equity in Lane County.

A full list of current sessions (many others being offered) can be found here.

The Economic Justice session specifically may be of interest to food and beverage business community.

This session is dedicated to hearing from people who receive services from, are front line workers, are advocates, who work in, are passionate about, or have had positive or negative experiences with the economic system (housing and employment) in Lane County and to share thoughts and opinions about what actionable things Lane County could or should do in order to ensure that racial equity is achieved in the economic system.
