The Eugene brewery was recognized for 6th consecutive year at world’s largest professional beer competition

Alesong Brewing & Blending was awarded a gold medal at the 2021 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) competition. This year marks the sixth year in a row Alesong has medaled at GABF, coinciding with each year they have released beer since their establishment. The win also increases the length of their active medal streak to be amongst the ten longest in the country. Locally, Alesong was the only brewery in Eugene and one of only fourteen Oregon breweries to take home an award during this year’s ceremony.

Alesong was recognized in the Belgian Fruit Beer style category for Stonefruit Symphony, a sour ale aged in French oak barrels with peaches and nectarines. Released in May of this year, Stonefruit Symphony brilliantly represents the fruit beer style acumen that Alesong is continually recognized for. The Alesong team processed thousands of pounds of fresh Oregon fruit by hand and carefully followed this beer as it aged at Alesong’s countryside brewery.

Stonefruit Symphony is a full, multi-layered fruit experience. It contains bold, juicy sweetness and refreshing acidity that recreate the joys of biting into a fresh peach, while hints of oak and subtle floral notes complete this bright and fruity beverage. Stonefruit Symphony is currently available at Alesong’s downtown tasting room in the Fifth Street Public Market (12-8 daily) with bottles also available at retail locations throughout Oregon.

“It’s an honor to be recognized once again on a national scale,” said Brian Coombs, Alesong co-founder and Director of Brewing Operations. “It’s no easy feat to compete alongside so many talented individuals year after year and continue to win medals. Receiving a gold medal shows that the beer industry respects and appreciates the work we do, which in turn gives us motivation to keep producing the highest quality blends possible.”
