Yogi Tea Awarded 2020 Bold Steps Award

Eugene, Oregon based Yogi Tea was named the 2020 Bold Steps Award winner during Mayor Lucy Vinis’ State of the City Address on January 8.

Each year, the City of Eugene presents the Bold Steps Award to a Eugene-based business that operates with a triple bottom line approach. Finalists are judged on how they support their employees and their sustainability initiatives, in addition to their economic success. This is the second year in a row that a food and beverage manufacturing company earned this award (Hummingbird Wholesale was the winner last year).

Yogi Tea, a brand of the East West Tea Company creates purposeful herbal tea blends and supports social responsibility. East West Tea Company has implemented environmentally preferred practices and supports organic farming practices in their supply chain. Employees have volunteered more than 500 hours to local nonprofits and staff actively support workplace preparation programs in local schools. As one of four local B Corp certified companies, East West Tea Company continues to invest in it's commitment to sustainable local business practices.
